Set up a Private Runner

Private Runners run Dex’s long-running work on your own Macs, Linux machines, containers, and Kubernetes clusters. A fix to a system inside your network runs there, under the same approval policy and with the same action record as hosted work.
1Add a machine
Register the machine as a runner. Deixic issues a one-time join token for it.
2Join the runner
Start the runner with the join token. It opens its own outbound connection to Deixic, so nothing on your network has to accept inbound traffic.
3Hand Dex the work
Long builds, coding agents, and browser sessions run on the runner under the same approval policy as hosted work.
4Watch or take over
Open the job in the app to follow its activity. Choose Take over to control the machine yourself, then Resume Dex to hand it back. Detach to leave without stopping the job.
5Check in from your phone
Pair an iPhone with the desktop app to follow jobs and answer approvals away from your desk.
