We do not currently set custom first-party cookies for marketing automation. The site previously used dx_vid and dx_attr cookies; current versions copy those anonymous values into browser storage before clearing the legacy cookies.

Vercel Web Analytics is enabled and Vercel describes that product as cookie-free.

Browser storage

We use first-party browser storage to keep anonymous analytics and attribution context coherent across pages and visits.

• dx_vid: anonymous visitor identifier stored locally in your browser.
• dx_attr: first-touch and last-touch attribution context.
• dx_vid_expires_at and dx_attr_expires_at: expiry markers that limit the persisted visitor and attribution context to 180 days.
• dx_last_visit_at: timestamp used to detect return visits.
• dx_session_id, dx_session_page_index, dx_returning_within_days, and dx_session_blog_slugs: session context used during the current browsing session.

Control

You can clear this data through your browser’s site-data or storage controls. If browser storage is unavailable, the site falls back to temporary in-memory state and continues working.

Changes

If we add non-essential cookies or materially change our storage practices, we will update this page and add any required controls.
