Agent Runtime Engineer

San Francisco · Full-time · In-person, 5 days/week

Ship the paths that decide whether an agent action runs, waits on a human, or is denied—under load.

What you will work on

Build and harden the action-time gate between agents and the systems they call.
Turn approval rules and scope into something the runtime can evaluate on every request.
Own sandboxing, egress allowlists, and credential handling for tool calls.
Own stop / pause / quarantine for a running agent when operators need out.

Shipped a latency-critical control plane or policy engine in production.
Production Rust, Go, or equivalent on a hot request path.
Built sandboxing or capability isolation that real failures (or adversaries) exercised.
Owned on-call for a system whose outages wake people up.
